It is stamped H. DIMMOCK in several places but can't trace him as a maker, so presume he was the owner/ maker/ carpenter

Used for cutting across the grain or for cutting veneers

A couple of guesses are that it's made from Elm and that it's early.

The blade is not original to the gauge.

Bits of age related damage but on the whole A very nice item
